A collective gasp of admiration... and Expressions Bridalwear!

(Quoted from the Daily Mirror May 2nd 2011 page 7.)

THE moment Kate Middleton stepped out of her car , a collective gasp of admiration went around the world for THAT dress.Now you have a chance to win a gorgeous gown, inspired by the original.

Dressmaker Edwina Ward beavered away to finish her version in less than three days, ready to give away to one lucky reader.

Here's the timetable of how it came into being:

Friday, 10:51am: As Kate is ushered into her car, we can already see the beauty of her dress – with its feminine and timeless look. The sketching begins.

11:30am: Call to an assistant running around London to find the lace and fabric. Noon: The sketches are complete and it's time for Edwina to draft the pattern.

2pm: With the pattern finished and fabric finally arrived, cutting can begin.

5pm: The lace bodice comes together on the dressmaker's dummy. It is such an elegant shape, bearing a striking resemblance to Grace Kelly's iconic gown.

7pm: The satin bodice is boned and lace will soon be joined.

Saturday, 2am: The bodice is finished!

8am: Measure out skirt and lining, stitch panels.

9am: Bringing the skirt together and creating its pleats.

Noon: Time has come to put the two together and it's starting to look like a dress. Edwina inserts the zip.

1pm: We're cutting out the left over lace to add detail and finish off the waist seam.

3pm: Edwina cuts the train bustle and starts working on the back view.

7pm: Double checking all details with original sketches and TV footage. Edwina attaches train to the back of the skirt. She just needs to sew last of the lace motifs.

Well what a success, Tewin Bury Farm hosted another one of their wedding exhibitions and we took to the catwalk with our amazing fashion shows. A show different to any other show. Beautiful models strutting their stuff on the catwalk in exquisite gowns that dazzled the eye with sparkle and crystal.
Menswear worn by Richard who entertained the audience with his fantastic moves in our new range of Peter Posh suits. And WOW what a finale, Ian Stuart stole the show once again the audience clapped and stared in amazement as one by one the gowns appeared on the catwalk, each one more stunning than the previous one until white doves, silver horse shoes and blue bows gracefully took to the stage. A great time was had by all and we went home happy but exhausted.

Our new range of stylish suits are now in; Fontoni, Milford and Sandford all perfect for summer weddings. Late nights for the men on Wednesdays so book now.
